Siberia & Kazakhstan Expedition

VLADIVOSTOCK (& KAZAKHSTAN) & BACK ECO-EXPEDITION 2011

As our fundraising Overland Expedition for 2011, we have decided on an overland expedition to Kazakhstan, via Russia and Siberia.

The route will probably be through France, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, the Baltic States and into Russia - visiting St Petersburg and Moscow - then heading across the Urals into Siberia, before heading south into Kazakhstan and back into Siberia and on to Vladivostock (pictures courtesy of Virtourist.com).

The return journey is likely to be through Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

We will be using a Toyota Surf, running on recycled vegetable oil, which will be collected en route, so there will be less impact on the environment and our wallets, leaving more money for cancer charities.

Currently, we are looking for two or three co-drivers (ideally including a breast cancer survivor) to share travel expenses, road tolls, etc and generally help raise funds for cancer charities. You should be the "outdoor type" as we'll be rough camping, in addition to staying with local families. Also, you need to be good at blogging used cooking oil, as that's what the vehicle will be running on...

Have a look at www.overlandtravel.org.uk for further details...

The expedition vehicle will be a Toyota Surf, which is currently being prepared in a workshop.

We hope to leave late July / early August 2010 - but these dates are not set in stone...

We now have a couple of other crews interested in joining us, so we may end up with a small convoy!

It is hoped to raise as much as we can for various charities.

DON'T FORGET:
I'm looking for 2/3 co-drivers (male or female) to share the costs and driving - who don't mind getting on with things when needed, rough camping and is good at doing things when they are needed - like fundraising for charities!
Another cancer survivor would be nice as a co-driver...
